How much does a geyser on rent cost per month in Delhi NCR?

Which size do you actually need?
Geyser capacity is about how much hot water you draw in one go, not how hot it gets. One bathroom, one or two people, ordinary bucket-and-shower use: 10 litres is enough. A family bathroom where showers run back to back: 15 litres. Two bathrooms drawing from the same geyser, or a bathtub: 25 litres. Oversizing is not free, you pay to keep more water hot than you use.

Rent or buy a geyser?
A decent 15 litre geyser costs ₹8,000-₹12,000 to buy and fit. On rent it is ₹550 a month, so on pure capital the purchase pays back in roughly eighteen months of use. The case for renting is not the sticker price, it is everything after it: in a rented flat the geyser stays with the landlord's wall when you move, the element and thermostat are consumables that fail in year three on hard Delhi NCR water, and descaling is a yearly job nobody books until the water runs lukewarm. If you own the flat and plan to stay, buy one. If you are renting the flat, running a PG, or would rather never think about it again, rent it.

When to book, and why October matters
Delhi NCR turns cold quickly and everyone reacts in the same fortnight. Demand for geysers spikes harder than for any other appliance we rent, and the larger sizes go first because families and shared flats need them. Book by mid-October and you choose your size and your fitting slot. Book in the second week of November and you take what is left, which is usually a 10 litre unit.
